BNRA & Corona Virus – Continuing the Voyage!

Although the seas have become a little rougher and unpredictable please help us and each other to continue our shared voyage from Drake to Dreadnought and Beyond.

Oxford Naval Symposium Postponed

Due to the global health conditions deteriorating as a result of the Covid 19 virus and the nature of the increased risk to many of our members, the committee has decided to postpone our Oxford Naval Symposium until conditions return to normal.  We are however encouraging all presenters to send in their presentations on the subject of ‘Go tell it to the Marines’. These will be collected ready for the postponed date, or released in a publication should much longer periods of confinement be needed.

BNRA Meetings: On Hold for Improved Times

Due to the need for social distancing and related measures to combat the virus we held our last meeting at the Bear Hotel on 15th March.  (see details in our newsletter). All further meetings have been cancelled for the immediate future following government advice until improved times.

Journal Articles, Models, Paintings and Photographs: The Passion Continues!

However, there is a great opportunity in this period of enforced home working to work on your research and prepare articles and snippets for the BNRA Journal. Not forgetting the chance to build that model, or paint and photograph aspects of naval interest ready for the time we can re-introduce our BNRA model, painting and photograph exhibitions.

We will keep in contact with you via our monthly newsletter and twice yearly issues of the Journal as well as email.  So do please send in articles, snippets, photographs etc for the next issue of the Journal that we plan to produce for May. Also please keep in contact with us and each other and share your research, preservation and promotion of your naval interests.
