The BNRA Oxford Naval Symposium is held in May each year and is focused on papers and presentations of naval interest. Past symposia have been held at Rhodes House, thanks to the generosity of the Warden. These have included:
ONS 2003 Presented the Naval Treasures at Oxford and a commemoration of the Battle of Jutland.
ONS 2004 was opened by the Canadian Naval Advisor at St Anne's College Oxford. It marked the anniversary of the D-Day invasion with a series of 12 presentations covering the naval history of 'Assault from the Sea', from the Greeks to the present day. Presentations were made by a variety of BNRA members and guest speakers. These included a descendent of the navigating officer of HMS Vindictive, of the famous Zeebrugge raid, a research fellow of American naval history from St Edmund Hall, and a Canadian Government naval historian speaking on World War II naval assaults, as seen above.
ONS 2005 focused on Nelson's Legacy
